HAUL: Salvation Army

Salvation Army Family Stores are awesome places to shop any day of the week (except Sundays, when they're closed), but they're especially great to go to on Wednesdays, when they run specials. The location that used to be by my parents had 50% off all clothes, media, and knick-knacks on Wednesdays; the one I currently shop at has 25% off pretty much everything except mattresses on Wednesdays. Needless to say, I like to go as many Wednesdays as possible, since you never know what you'll find. Today was one of my milder expeditions, but I still picked up several good deals.

The sweater is super comfortable and is definitely a good edition to my wardrobe. I've seen the Gourmet's America cookbook the last 4 times I've gone to Salvation Army and considered buying it, so I figured I should finally go through with it; it's a cool cookbook. I was particularly excited to find the DVD of Drop Dead Gorgeous, since it's one of my favorites but up until now I've only owned it on VHS.

Please Note: The prices and savings listed above apply specifically to the editions I purchased and do not necessarily reflect the current prices at Barnes & Noble or Amazon; those prices may be more or less than stated above.

  1. Great Post! Those are great buys and for such great prices! The salvation army is always a great place to check frequently since you never know what they have and when they get new things in. The one time I went with you shopping to salvation army I think I paid around $55 and I got like 4 bags of stuff. Which I think was like 20 things or something. It was crazy! but I could not believe how little I spent for the amount of items I got!!

    • It really is crazy! This was a more reserved trip than usual… on many trips I’ve spent closer to $50 and gotten a whole trunk full of stuff.

  2. Great Stuff! I love the way you write, and all of the tips! Good luck!

  3. I love the fabric pattern on the sundress – great find!
