DEALS: Bed Bath & Beyond Online Clearance
Bed Bath & Beyond tends to have higher prices than I like, so I usually only shop there when I have a coupon or need something specific. My biggest complaint with BB&B is that they usually don't have much clearance, if any at all; what they do have discounted are typically returned/opened products, damaged products, and products missing pieces. Right now, though, they have a quite extensive online clearance section. Since their prices start out higher than other stores I shop at, their clearance prices are higher as well, but there are still some good deals, especially for the dorm room.
Read through for my picks for dorm, home, and gifts, or just head on over to browse for yourself.
For the Dorm
If you haven't yet outfitted your dorm room (or your kid's dorm), do it now! I found several great deals for the dorm.
Moshi Toss Pillows, $9.99/ea.
BB&B has 3 different styles available for $9.99/ea. The soccerball or beachball ones would be the perfect addition to a dorm bed, as they can be tossed and squished and can act as a pillow or as a stuffed animal of sorts (without anyone thinking you sleep with a stuffed animal).
Regular price is usually closer to $20/ea.
Berkshire Blanket Reversible Throw, $14.99
One side's soft and fluffy, the other smooth, making this blanket perfect for going from bed to chair, from car to lawn, or anywhere else. Only available in a floral print, so the guys might now want this one.
Probably usually runs around $20 to $25.
Self Expressions Body Pillow Covers, $4.99/ea.
These body pillow covers are available in four colors/designs: kiwi green, bright orange, white with multicolored dots, and a multicolored stripe.
Body pillow covers usually range from $10/ea. to $20/ea.
Bar Mop Towels, 3/$2.99, and Bar Mop Cloths, 6/$2.99
Don't be scared off by the word bar, moms and dads. These brightly colored towels and washcloths work just as well in the dorm bathroom as in the bar or kitchen (actually, probably better). At $1/ea. for the towels and $0.50/ea. for the cloths, you won't be able to beat these prices with "regular" washcloths and towels, either.
Plain white bar cloths are 6/$4.99, while plain white bar towels are 6/$7.99.
Text Talk Shower Curtain (shown), $9.99, or Oahu Floral Shower Curtain, $12.99
Shower curtains can be really expensive, but dorm room showers don't need the high quality curtains you might buy at home. Grab one of these dorm-ready ones, and you don't need to worry about it getting beat up — the vinyl will hold up to a lot, and at these prices, you won't care if it only lasts one year, anyway.
Shower curtains usually start at $9.99 (for vinyl ones); kids curtains are typically around $19.99 while high-end curtains can be $29.99 or more.
Oahu Floral Wastebasket, $4.99
This wastebasket coordinates with the Oahu Floral shower curtain above, but it would look at home in any brightly colored girls' dorm room. At this price, you can get one for the bathroom and the room, and you won't care how dingy or beat-up it gets during the year, either.
Wastebaskets usually start closer to $10 and go up from there.

"Danielle" Wastebasket, $5.99, and "Danielle" Bath Towels, $6.99/ea.
These black and pink pieces coordinate and would complement a lot of girls' existing belongings. The wastebasket is white with flowers; the towels are striped.
Wastebaskets and towels usually start at $10/ea. and go up from there.
Rise 'n' Store Set, $10.49
This set includes 4 black bed risers (6"), along with a storage pod (green or gray) to attach to one of the risers, to keep your phone, mp3 player, and more close at hand.
5" bed risers are $8.99/set, 7" risers are $14.99/set, and wooden ones or ones with designs are even more.
For the Home
Gibson Lumetta Stainless Steel Flatware, $19.99/set
This 42-piece everyday set is dishwasher safe and includes 8 each of salad forks, dinner forks, dinner knives, soup spoons, and teaspoons, as well as a serving fork and a serving spoon.
Other full (40+ pieces) stainless steel flatware sets start from $69.99, while stainless steel place settings (salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, soup spoon, and teaspoon for one person) start at $39.99.
Cuisinart Non-Stick 10-Piece Cookware Set, $49.99/set
This set of black aluminum cookware with silicone covered handles includes two skillets, two covered saucepans, a covered saute pan, and a covered stockpot.
10-piece cookware sets start at $75, though most are $100 or more.
Mikasa Platinum Shimmer Dinnerware, $44.99/place setting
Like most "fancy" (or formal occasion) dishes, these can't go in the oven, microwave, or dishwasher, due mostly to the platinum borders. Each place setting includes a dinner plate, salad plate, bread and butter plate, teacup, and saucer.
Other fancy 5-piece place settings start at $49.99/setting, though most are $75/setting or more.
Flip-Flops (shown) or Life's a Beach Coir Doormats, $7.49/ea.
These mats are both roughly 18"x28" and can be used outside or inside, though be warned that coir mats do shed. Pick one up now for next summer, or use it through the winter to keep you motivated for summer.
Other coir mats are $19.99; other doormats can range anywhere from $14.99 to $99.99.
Pumpkin Salt & Pepper Shakers, $1.99/two sets
These cute little white pumpkin-shaped salt & pepper shakers are perfect for Thanksgiving and other fall get-togethers. For $1.99, you get two sets (so 2 salt shakers and 2 pepper shakers), which is perfect if you have a long dining room table or if you have an "adults" table and a "kids" table.
Similar small white salt & pepper shaker sets (just one salt & one pepper) are usually $5.99/set, while others are usually $19.99/set or more.
Gift Ideas
Porcelain Travel Mugs, $3.99/two
These travel mugs are designed to look like carry-out paper coffee cups, but are instead made of porcelain with black silicone sleeves, lids, and no-slip bases. Not only are they reusable, but they're also dishwasher safe.
Usually sell for $8/mug and up.
Moshi Christmas Toss Pillows, $3.99/ea.
Start your Christmas shopping early by grabbing a couple of these penguins or Santa Claus pillows. Kids will love them, but they'd also look festive on couches or armchairs.
Regular price is usually closer to $20/ea.
AfterSoles Portable Ballet Flats, $4.99/pair
These silver ballet flats roll up to be carried in a drawstring pouch. They're a perfect gift for bridesmaids, and they're great to bring along to prom or other festive occasions where high heels can get uncomfortable. Be warned, though, that they're really more like slippers than flats, so you won't want to wear them outside much.
Usually $15/pair or $20/pair.

I agree that BB&B doesn’t usually have the best prices on any given item; I do find things there that are hard to find elsewhere, though. And you found some cool things!
